50 Years Of Interpack:Packaging History

interpack

How did milk actually ever come to be packaged in cartons? Since when have pills been available in blister packs? And why did the modular construction principle take hold in the packaging machine industry? In 2008, the interpack celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking the occasion with an exhibition looking back at “50 years of packaging history”.

“Anyone who wants to know what drives the market and what solutions are on offer around the world will come to the interpack“. This in so many words was the mission outlined by the interpack’s founding fathers. A retrospective look back at the history of the interpack illustrates just how quickly this ambitious goal was achieved.

The following pages document some of the exhibition’s highlights. Rather than provide a complete pictorial record, the following publication is intended as a series of impressions which demonstrate the enormous innovative impetus driving the packaging sector forward.

It only remains for us to hope that you gain some interesting insights and also inspiration as you go about your daily work. A glimpse into the future of the packaging industry awaits you at the interpack 2011.
