SAICA, Rigid Group and Weidenhammer UK are among the packaging manufacturers and buyers to add their names to the growing list of supporters for Packaging News' Election Manifesto 2010.

The Manifesto launched in the April issue of Packaging News and calls on the incoming government to support UK manufacturing and the packaging industry through a range of measures covering waste and recycling policy, sustainability and business issues.

Representatives of plastics giant Linpac Packaging, Bradford College, sun cream manufacturer Malibu Health Products and pharmaceutical carton maker Firstan and workwear maker Arco are also among the supporters of the project (see full list below).

Key issues in the manifesto include a demand that the new government supports UK manufacturing in all its forms, involves the packaging industry in policy affecting it and bases decisions on packaging on science, not politics.
