Coca Cola GB: Christmas Entertainment From Schweppes

20/11/2009, Packaging Europe

Iconic drinks brand, Schweppes is launching a new advertising campaign, which taps into the brand's rich history of witty, quintessentially British humour.

The 'Christmas Entertainment from Schweppes' campaign will be broadcast across 8 UKTV channels from November 16th through December. The campaign will come to life through 10 creatives that will appear as 10 second i-dents. In addition a 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas' creative will appear as a selection of 10 second spots across terrestrial stations from early December.

The campaign is by Mother London, the longstanding Schweppes' advertising agency and was directed by renowned filmmaker, Tom Kuntz, who is amongst the most awarded TV advert directors in the world. The campaign takes inspiration from classic Christmas illustrations of the 1950s, drawing on quintessentially British scenes and transposing them to a contemporary setting.

Featuring the recognisable voices of cult British comedians including Smack The Pony star Doon Mackichan, and Martin Freeman (The Office and Love Actually.) The creative draws on Schweppes' legacy of witty, British humour and its' position as a Christmas essential, whilst presenting some comedy moments drenched in typically British Christmas nostalgia.

Cathryn Sleight, Marketing Director for Coca Cola GB said: "We are really excited to launch our new Christmas advertising campaign. These adverts perfectly capture Schweppes' brand personality, adding a welcome twist and a humorous slant to any occasion and in this case Christmas. We are genuinely excited to have Tom Kuntz directing these adverts for us. They sit in a long tradition of refreshingly witty advertising and quintessentially British humour that that has always been at the core of the Schweppes brand."
