Pouch film contains integral easy-tear feature
2015-12-24

From:Packaging Digest

With flexible packaging growing at a healthy clip, consumer packaged goods companies are looking for easy-open options that are efficient on the packaging line and intuitive for consumers to use. The new TreaTear LT Series polyproypylene sealant films for non-retort pouch laminations provides an easy-opening feature  via a precise machine-direction linear tear—without the need for secondary laser scoring or perforating. There’s an additional source reduction benefit, too. With TreaTear LT films from Toray Plastics (America) Inc., which are available as thin as 30 microns (1.2 mil.), you can use one thin film to replace two: a traditional nylon directional-tear film laminated to a standard sealant web. These FDA- and CONEG-compliant materials have a low seal-initiation temperature and high heat-seal strength, according to the manufacturer.
