Stevanato Group opens new factory in Mexico
2008-12-05

Stevanato Group, a global producer of glass tube containers for the pharmaceutics industry, recently inaugurated a new production facility in Monterrey, Mexico.

As announced by the company, the new facility is one of the most advanced factories in the world for the production of glass tube containers for pharmaceutical use. As the Stevanato sees America as the reference market, in particular the US, therefore the position in northern Mexico is strategic.

The President of the Group Sergio Stevanato said in a statement: "We feel that the American market is strategic for our growth in the next few years and here, in Monterrey, we have found what can be considered an ideal place due to the convergence of numerous key factors including an important local tradition in industrial glass working that dates back to the early 1900's and one of the highest concentrations of excellent technical universities in Mexico."

The choice of opening a new productive pole is in line with the world market trend to direct the development of new highly technological products to the US, according to the company.

Some of the biggest pharmaceutical groups already took this step some time ago.
