SCA to expand its cardboard plant in Romania
2008-12-05

Corrugated cardboard processor SCA Packaging, a division of Swedish group SCA, has reportedly invested 9 million Euros in expanding its corrugated cardboard plant in Timisoara, Romania.

The production capacity will be increased 7-8 times. This year's production estimate is put at around 7 million square meters of corrugated cardboard processed in Romania.

SCA will start to manufacture corrugated cardboard as of next year, after it has acted solely as a processor up until now.

Company representatives expect an about 8 million-euro turnover this year, with a 30% growth compared with last year, according to Balogh, on a market which has seen a decline in volume.

SCA Packaging Romania founded in 2002 in Timisoara as a regional service center. In 2005, it built its own 5,000 square meter facility, followed by a warehouse and service centers in Oradea and Pitesti.
