Label Apeel wins German beverage contracts

Leicester-based self adhesive label manufacturer, Label Apeel, has broken into the German beverage labelling market with two contract wins.

The company, which is driving to expand in the growing beverage market, has signed deals with Weingut Herbert Becker, a vineyard in the Kraichgau wine region, and Mall-Brau, a brewery in Meckesheim, to supply bottle labels.

Label Apeel declined to comment on the value of the deals.

Speaking about the contract wins, Label Apeel managing director Stuart Kellock said: “We were interested in helping them [Herbert Becker and Mall-Brau] solve their problems. In the German industry few labelling businesses are willing to invest the time and effort for smaller brands.

“We helped the winery modernise its look and the brewery to solve a technical quality issue.”

Label Apeel has designed a self-adhesive wrap around label for Weingut Herbert Becker’s products.  The German firm previously had front and back bottle labels.

Weingut Herbert Becker has also taken advantage of Label Apeel’s in-house free design service by having the wrap around fully redesigned.

Kellock said: “Mall-Brau had issues with the colour of its labels previously, when it was using wet glue labels. We helped it to create new self-adhesive labels and solved the problem.”

Label Apeel has said that will develop by targeting further clients in the UK and throughout Europe in the beverage market.
