Growth market China chooses beauty: glass pots and flacons for the Asian cosmetics industry

China is one of the world’s key growth markets. The Gerresheimer Group recognized this at an early stage of the development and, as a result, has been able to establish itself as first choice partner to the Chinese cosmetics industry. Its Chinese subsidiary, Beijing Gerresheimer, will be exhibiting a comprehensive range of the first glass packaging products to be manufactured in Peking at Cosmoprof Asia 2010. The fair is taking place from November 10 to 12 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Gerresheimer’s stand is 3G-C4B in hall 3G). A range of products will be on show, including delicate flacons, beautiful bottles and fine pots for fragrances, skin care cosmetics and decorative cosmetics.

One of Gerresheimer’s seven plants in China specializes exclusively in the production of glass packaging for cosmetic products. These exclusive
packaging products are used in both the masstige and the prestige segment, which underlines Gerresheimer's broad expertise in this field.

“Our commitment to first rate quality is an important aspect of our work. Also, our very broad-based technological expertise means that we can always respond flexibly to customer requirements and needs,” explained An Lihui, Sales Manager Beijing Gerresheimer Glass Co. “Growth in demand for our products from Asian cosmetics manufacturers confirm that we are on to a winning strategy” adds Nicolas Balena, Sales Director from Gerresheimer Momignies S.A. and also responsible for Asia.

Beijing Gerresheimer can comply with customer product requests however individual and extravagant they may be, and there are very few
limitations on its creativity. It offers diverse glass designs and the full range of finishing technologies, from feeder coloring to complete or partial acid etching, hot embossing, coating and color spraying to direct printing on the glass. The selection of current flagship products on show in Hong Kong provides an impressive insight into the world of sophisticated glass cosmetics packaging products and a glimpse of tomorrow’s trends.
