Pro2Pac show launches food and drink pack design challenge

Exhibitors at food packaging show Pro2Pac are set to show off their creativity in a new design contest.

The Packaging Design Challenge will take place at the biennial show, which takes place next March at London’s Excel exhibition centre.

Entries are being invited from designers, manufacturers and other packaging suppliers for three categories: retail-ready packaging; food on the go; and luxury food and drink packaging.

All entries will be showcased at Pro2Pac, which takes place alongside food exhibition IFE on 13-16 March next year. Entrants will also have the opportunity to post a video of their entries on Pro2Pac’s website.

Deborah Conneely, marketing manager at Pro2Pac organiser Reed Exhibitions, said: “Due to fast-changing consumer demand, sustainability and increasing competition amongst food manufacturers and own-brand retailers to achieve product differentiation, innovation in the packaging arena has never been stronger.

“The Packaging Design Challenge is an ideal opportunity for packaging designers, food manufacturers and suppliers of packaging equipment, materials, and containers who want to push the boundaries of packaging, to showcase their talents to the food and drink industry; exciting and inspiring visitors.”
