Asda and Coke among brands to reveal all at Pira summit

 

Asda, Coca Cola, Dell and Puma are among the brands set to speak at next week's Pira European Packaging Summit.

 

Packaging heads from the brands are set to headline a two-day seminar line-up that will examine issues affecting the packaging sector including the economy, environmental drivers and current legislation and regulation.



Asda head of corporate policy for sustainability and ethics Julian Walker-Palin will talk on the use of carbon metrics to optimize packaging strategy, while Cees van Dongen, director of sustainable packaging solutions at Coca Cola, will update delegates on the soft drinks group's experience of using recycled PET in its bottles.



For Dell, Oliver Campbell, Worldwide Senior Manager of Packaging, will discuss the global outlook on sustainability in packaging while Puma's Mark Coetzee will speak on the brand's experience of revamping its shoebox packaging.


On the business front, Moorgate Capital's Nicholas Mockett will give an overview of current economic drivers for the packaging industry while Pira senior consultant Simon Smith will give an outlook for the industry to 2015.



Wrap, Crown Holdings, McKinsey, Interbrand and HJ Heinz are all also set to speak at the event, which takes place in London on 5 and 6 October.
