Sealed Air opens Packforum® doors

Sealed Air is gearing up to welcome hundreds of visitors to Packforum®, its state-of-the-art packaging training and exhibition facility, where it will be presenting the company's latest developments in high speed wrapping equipment and shrink films.

This spectacular packaging extravaganza is being run from 22nd - 25th November during the Emballage exhibition and is conveniently located on the edge of Paris - just 10 minutes from the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport and the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre.
Visitors to this unique event will be able to view the latest breakthrough in wrapping film technology - Cryovac® CT-301, a high performance proprietary, ultra thin shrink film, which represents a major step in source material reduction and has already been proven as a superior alternative to the polyethylene commonly used for wrapping magazines.

Thanks to revolutionary new technology from the global leader in polyolefin shrink film, Cryovac® CT-301 is the only seven micron film available on the market. Despite it being half the thickness of other films, it retains the strength, tear and burn resistance of 13-15 micron films and has enhanced seal strength and durability, making it versatile to use on various applications and on a broad range of shrink equipment. The exceptionally thin nature of the film also gives excellent low reflectivity optical qualities and unbeatably clear product presentation.
Proud of the spectacular success of this new polyolefin shrink film throughout Europe since the beginning of the year, the Shrink Packaging business unit of Sealed Air will be releasing further versions of the film in the coming weeks.

Being showcased alongside the Cryovac® CT-301 will be Sealed Air's automatic form-fill-seal wrapper, the Shanklin® Triumph with a T-71E single chamber shrink tunnel. Ideal for mid-range applications, this high speed machine can process up to 60 packages per minute, is easy to set up and has a user-friendly touch screen interface.

A team of Sealed Air Shrink Packaging technicians will be on site throughout the four day event to demonstrate a full range of film and machines, allowing guests to experiment on equipment and test different materials.

On a day to day basis, Packforum® opens its doors to leading industry professionals, who are encouraged to use their own products to trial which machine and packaging film best suits their requirements before making any commercial decisions. Guests are also encouraged to participate in regular workshops and seminars aimed at specific market sectors, such as contract packing, DIY products and print media, all presented by leading industry specialists.

Packforum® covers some 2,300 square meters and provides a unique and valuable resource for the packaging industry. Sealed Air Shrink Packaging's marketing director for Europe, Helios Ruiz, said: "The facility prides itself on top quality presentation and it is important that the layout and design provide a good representation of the new, fresh and innovative ideas that are developed in the forum. I look forward to welcoming all those who can attend our special technology showcase in November".
