New owner for Packaging News as acquisitive Metropolis buys title
Packaging News has moved into a new phase of development after being bought by one of the UK's fastest-growing publishing houses.
The title has been bought by Metropolis International Group, a London-based publisher that owns business titles in markets including construction, travel and finance.
It also has a portfolio in the retail market including titles such as Independent Retail News, the website Talking Retail and Duty Free News International.
Alongside Packaging News, Metropolis has also bought technology title AV and the website motoringjobs.co.uk from Haymarket Media Group. Editorial and commercial teams on all the titles will move into the Metropolis Business Media division.
Metropolis Business Media managing director Kevin Crook said: "Packaging News covers a vibrant and important industry and I am looking forward to continuing to grow the brand as part of the Metropolis stable."
Packaging News editor Josh Brooks said: "It's great news that we are moving to a publisher that is in expansion mode and I have no doubt the move will create exciting opportunities for Packaging News to expand and serve its readers even better in the future."
