Jiffy Packaging Co Ltd, leading protective packaging manufacturer– part of Pregis Protective Packaging Europe – has appointed Stoke-on-Trent based haulier R G Bassett & Sons Ltd to provide a full logistics support operation, enabling Jiffy to offer an enhanced delivery service to its UK distributors.

As part of the new contract arrangements, the Jiffy name and livery have been applied to the rear doors of eight high cube trailers newly acquired by Bassett’s, further raising the profile of the Jiffy brand and underlining the company’s market leading position.

The new service will ensure prompt and efficient supply of Jiffy products, including its famous padded bags, foam, air bubble film and protective mailers, and pioneering Air Cushion Technology for packaging void fill systems, across the UK.

“In today’s highly competitive markets, we recognise that reliable delivery is every bit as important as the quality of the products supplied,” explains Alan Weston, Managing Director of Jiffy Packaging Co.  “In RG Bassett & Sons Ltd we have found the ideal partner, with an excellent record in customer service to a varied client base, and it is particularly pleasing that we have been able to partner with a similar locally-based and well-established business.”

The arrival of the new delivery fleet follows Jiffy’s £500,000 investment in end of the line packing equipment, which has both increased production efficiencies and enabled orders to be tailored to individual customer requirements.

“Jiffy is a much loved and highly respected brand and our ongoing investment programme underlines our commitment to continuing to support it, by providing both quality products and high levels of customer service,” comments Mr Weston.
